About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses who are passionate about providing high-quality care in an institutional setting. The role involves providing nursing care and treatment to inmates or residents while meeting the pace and performance standards required for the job. The nurse also supports physician sick calls, medication administration, and the secure handling of medical supplies and records.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Be licensed in the state of employment.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates or residents.
• Attend sick call with the physician, prepare a list of inmates or residents to be examined, and prepare the examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
• Control and inventory medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment according to established procedures.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medical records.
