About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care and treatment to inmates/residents in an institutional setting. The role requires performing the listed functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the position’s actual job requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Hold a license in the state of employment.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician, prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined, and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
- Control medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment, and inventory them as required by established procedures.
- Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records.
