About The Position

Benchmark is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The position is part of a team of associates who support one another and build community while developing lasting relationships with residents and colleagues.

The schedule is Wednesday and Thursday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and every other weekend, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

• Current state LPN license.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program, as required by state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous experience working with elderly people in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in residents’ behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, as required by state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their work.
• Coordinate residents’ care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for residents’ independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources as required by state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and know when to call for backup.
