Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Per Diem
About The Position
Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art facility serving up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. Licensed Practical Nurses carry out daily patient-care routines under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor. The role provides direct care in accordance with nursing care and treatment plans, supports a safe and therapeutic milieu, and assists with behavior management and crisis interventions. LPNs also partner with RNs on admissions and discharges, administer medications and treatments, support medication education and informed consent, monitor medication effectiveness, and document care according to policies and procedures. Flexible per diem options are available. The facility is located in Byron Center, Michigan, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Avenue SW.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Demonstrate clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
- Hold a current LPN license in the State of Michigan.
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
- Previous psychiatric clinical experience is desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care according to nursing care plans and patient treatment plans.
- Work with other personnel to maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu.
- Assist with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion, and restraint under the direction of the registered nurse.
- Partner with the RN on patient admissions and discharges.
- Administer medications and treatments to patients.
- Assist with medication education, informed consent, and monitoring medication effectiveness and efficacy.
- Document medication and treatment administration according to policies and procedures.
