About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Nursing Department. The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP), within the scope of practice defined by the State Boards of Nursing. The role calls for a detail-oriented, compassionate nurse who can handle physically demanding tasks and support the healthcare team in delivering comprehensive medical services. The position is on 9A, a 16-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in rehabilitation. The unit provides opportunities to develop medical/surgical nursing skills, including physical assessments, IV therapy, central line care, pain management, skin and wound-vac care, burn trauma care, and medication administration. Nurses also work with the interdisciplinary team—including physical, occupational, and speech therapists—to develop goals of care and help patients learn self-management skills and prepare for a transition home and into the community. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week day-shift position, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. An $8,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. New graduates are welcome to apply; inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience is a plus.
