About The Position

Valley Hope of Boonville is hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing support in a residential and outpatient addiction treatment organization. The role provides care for patients affected by addiction and supports their recovery. The LPN delivers prescribed treatments and medication interventions in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. The position may be assigned to day or night shifts and includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus paid over two years. The LPN supports detox admissions and patient care during detoxification, including screening, collecting physical assessment data and health histories, carrying out detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients. The role also involves documenting care and observations, communicating with nursing and clinical colleagues, responding to medical emergencies, maintaining infection-control practices and patient privacy, and overseeing non-licensed nursing staff as directed by the facility Nursing Director. The position is based in a residential treatment facility and requires direct patient contact and walking throughout the facility. The schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. The work can involve sustained periods at a rapid pace and physical tasks including lifting and assisting patients.

Requirements

Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
CPR certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in nursing.
One year of clinical nursing care work experience.
Work experience in a substance abuse treatment facility.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care support for prescribed treatments and medication interventions established for each patient.
Deliver nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Administer drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as permitted by law.
Assist with detox admissions and provide care during detoxification, including patient pre-screening, obtaining physical assessment data and health histories, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring patients.
Accurately and promptly record treatment activities and patient observations and complete required paperwork.
Communicate with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff about patients’ treatment and status.
Follow established procedures for medical emergencies, including convulsions, suicide-related emergencies, and Delirium Tremens.
Maintain a safe and sanitary environment using infection-control techniques and universal precautions.
Protect patient information and comply with applicable policies and procedures.
Oversee non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable medical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and state and federal guidelines.
Complete required continuing education credits and maintain current state licensure or certification.
