About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in hospice settings in Central Ohio. We offer flexible scheduling options, including 3x 12-hour shifts, 5x 8-hour shifts, or a combination of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts per week. This role involves rotating weekends every other weekend and working two holidays per year. The compensation ranges from $28-$34 per hour.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or a vocational nursing program
• Three years of nursing experience
• Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the practicing state
• Must possess current CPR Certification
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
• Valid driver’s license with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state requirements
• Understands the philosophy of hospice concept and the needs of the terminally ill

Nice To Haves

• Community health, hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as defined in State Nurse Practice Act
• Implement current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care
• Assess and provide patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and self-plan of care
• Participate in the coordination of hospice services, appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group
• Provide appropriate pain/symptom management
• Evaluates the patient’s response to treatments/medications
