About The Position

NHC HomeCare Lawrenceburg is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for PRN and part-time work. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN provides skilled nursing services as ordered in the plan of care and in accordance with policies, procedures, and state practice acts. The LPN instructs patients and caregivers about patient care and disease management, documents their comprehension and compliance with teaching, observes responses to care and teaching, and recommends plan-of-care revisions to the Registered Nurse. The LPN also provides and documents skilled nursing care according to the established plan of care, policies, procedures, and standards of care, and performs other duties assigned by the RN or Clinical Manager.

Requirements

Hold a current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state where the HomeCare agency is located, or a compact-state license if applicable.
Graduate from a state-approved LPN program.
At least one year of clinical experience as an LPN; applicants with less than one full year may be considered and, if hired, will receive mentoring and additional oversight through the end of that one-year period.

Nice To Haves

Experience in home health care is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled nursing services as ordered in the plan of care and according to policies, procedures, and state practice acts under a Registered Nurse’s supervision.
Instruct patients and caregivers in patient care and disease management.
Document patient and caregiver comprehension of and compliance with teaching.
Observe patient responses to care and teaching and recommend revisions to the plan of care to the Registered Nurse.
Provide and document skilled nursing care according to the established plan of care, policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Perform other duties as assigned by the RN or Clinical Manager.
