About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to serve in the Walk In Clinic in Bismarck, North Dakota. The position assists registered nurses, physicians, and other providers and provides direct patient care in an ambulatory care setting to support Essentia Health’s mission and goals. The employee performs procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated and cares for patients from newborn through elderly age groups. The role is 36 hours per week, worked as three 12-hour shifts, with every third weekend and holidays required. The schedule is a day/evening rotation. There is no call obligation. The position is based at Essentia Health Walk-in Care - Bismarck 9th St. The compensation range is $21.72–$32.58. Requirements

For the LPN option: Current North Dakota LPN license required upon hire.
For the CMA option: Current medical assistant registration or certification, or verifiable completion of a medical assistant program; certification must be obtained within one year of hire and passed within two attempts.
For the CMA option: Register as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire or transfer. A clinical assistant may not administer medication before MA-III registration.
For both options: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist registered nurses, physicians, and other providers in the ambulatory care setting.
Provide direct patient care to contribute to meeting Essentia Health’s mission and goals.
Perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
Care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
