About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for its Walk In Clinic in Big Rapids. The Medical Assistant is part of the clinical support team and works closely with other healthcare professionals to help deliver patient care. Corewell Health operates more than 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, including a range of primary care and specialty practices. This position is scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week, with variable days Monday through Sunday and variable weekends. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
