About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient-centered care in an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting. The LPN supports patients recovering from serious illness, injury, or complex medical conditions, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. The role works collaboratively with the care team and assists the RN with assessments, implements rehabilitation nursing interventions, and contributes to individualized patient care and education.

This is a full-time, day-schedule position from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The hospital is a 36-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation facility serving the Oklahoma City community.

Requirements

• Current state or compact state LPN license.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments according to policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain, use appropriate pain management techniques, and educate patients and families.
• Perform patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
