About The Position
Join Our Mission-Driven Team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Ocracoke Health Center. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing holistic, high-quality care with a focus on building relationships and strengthening communities. This role is based in Ocracoke, NC, with clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. We serve the communities of coastal North Carolina with locations in Manteo, Ocracoke, and Engelhard.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active LPN license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one).
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Proficiency in blood draws and medication dosage calculation.
- A calm, confident presence and the ability to act in emergencies.
Nice To Haves
- Clinic or community health experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with physical assessments and collect lab specimens.
- Administer medications and basic treatments as prescribed.
- Support providers with exams, procedures, and minor clinical tasks.
- Educate patients on wellness practices and clearly communicate physician instructions.
- Ensure safety and compliance with infection control and confidentiality standards.
- Accurately chart assessments, interventions, and test results in Athena (EMR).
