About The Position
Join Our Mission-Driven Team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. and the Engelhard Medical Center. This is a full-time position located in Engelhard, NC, with clinic hours from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization is dedicated to providing holistic, high-quality care with a focus on building relationships and strengthening communities. They serve the beautiful and tight-knit communities of coastal North Carolina with locations in Manteo, Ocracoke, and Engelhard.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active LPN license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one).
- At least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Proficiency in blood draws and medication dosage calculation.
- A calm, confident presence and the ability to act in emergencies.
Nice To Haves
- Clinic or community health experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with physical assessments and collect lab specimens.
- Administer medications and basic treatments as prescribed.
- Support providers with exams, procedures, and clinical tasks.
- Educate patients on wellness practices and clearly communicate physician instructions.
- Ensure safety and compliance with infection control and confidentiality standards.
- Accurately chart assessments, interventions, and test results in Athena (EMR).
