Requirements

  • Current LPN license in the State of Oklahoma required.
  • BLS required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Typing and basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the provider and staff members in providing optimal care to patients under the direction of the Physician or Advanced Practitioner.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination including inspections for cleanliness and equipment conditions, stocks and maintains rooms and nurses stations with adequate supplies.
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms; prepares for provider visits by obtaining initial patient history/information and vital signs; assists with exams, test and special procedures as directed.
  • Assists with scheduling appointments, pre-certifying patients, referral contacts, clinical and clerical duties.
  • Gathers & documents information about a patient’s vitals, to include height, weight, blood pressure, O2 sat, & pain level immediately notifying provider when a patient’s vitals are critical. Also gathers information about patient’s allergies & medications, & reconciling the medication list at each encounter, according to provider preference.
  • Gathers & documents information about a patient’s history including past medical, social, & surgical history at each encounter, according to provider preference.
  • Gathers & documents information about a patient’s allergies & medications, & reconciles the medication list at each encounter, according to provider preference.
  • Performs EKG, waived lab testing, breathing treatments, & spirometry competently & documents in the EMR appropriately.
  • Able to perform medication calculations accurately & administers injections according to the Five Rights of Medication Administration. Appropriately documents medication administration in the EMR, to include lot number, NDC number, and Mfg unit of measure.
