About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the nurse assists in delivering and managing care for patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic illnesses, or addressing other health-related concerns. The role supports compassionate, efficient, and effective care within the facility.

Schedule: Part-time, weekdays and weekends, 6:00 PM–10:30 PM.

Requirements

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the work is performed.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to perform a range of nursing procedures with precision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build rapport with residents through a compassionate and caring demeanor.
• Ability to lift and transfer patients, with or without assistance, up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
• Strength to handle medical equipment and assist patients with mobility and physical activities.
• Visual acuity and dexterity for reading medical records, administering injections, and handling medical instruments.
• Ability to respond swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations.
• Ability to work in various home environments, which may include stairs, tight spaces, or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
• Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles repeatedly or continuously to support part of the body without fatiguing.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of nursing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with skilled nursing facility protocols.
• Perform routine and specialized nursing tasks, including wound care, catheter insertion, and monitoring vital signs.
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, caregivers, and the healthcare team.
• Monitor and document resident progress, responses to treatments, and changes in condition; report significant findings to the supervising RN.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers about facility services, symptom management, and care options.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living as needed, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and changes in condition, providing appropriate interventions and support.
• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures to protect residents and staff.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or designated management.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality according to the department supervisor or manager's schedule.
