About The Position
Cadia Healthcare is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Charge for its Renaissance facility in Millsboro, Delaware. LPNs are essential to delivering resident care and supporting the facility’s nursing staff. The position directs nursing assistants’ day-to-day duties and performs nursing and administrative tasks to ensure residents receive appropriate care in accordance with long-term care rules, regulations, and guidelines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends. Salary is undisclosed.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered, active LPN license in the state of employment or a compact state.
- Current CPR license.

Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the long-term care facility.
- Meet with assigned nursing assistants to provide nursing reports on assigned residents and review their 24-hour summary reports in the electronic medical record.
- Complete administrative duties, including medical forms, evaluations, observations, event documentation, and other records for assigned residents.
- Ensure medications and treatments are signed off before the end of the assigned shift, and inform the Nursing Supervisor of resident changes in condition.
- Receive telephone orders from physicians, transcribe and record orders in the electronic health record, and prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider.
- Inform nursing staff about new admissions, including expected arrival times and room assignments; ensure rooms are ready, greet residents, and escort them to rooms as needed.
- Make rounds with providers as necessary and conduct periodic checks to ensure CNA/GNA care is completed and evaluate resident status.
- Ensure nursing notes reflect that care plans are followed when providing nursing care or treatment.
- Review care plans for appropriate resident goals, problems, approaches, and revisions based on nursing needs, and update them as appropriate.
