Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Behavioral Health Setting - Day Shift
About The Position
Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Littleton, CO. Highlands features individual units for adults and seniors and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Centennial Peaks Hospital. The Licensed Practical Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Licensed Practical Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment is critical.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure and registration by the Colorado Division of Regulatory Agencies as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.
Nice To Haves
- One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.
