About The Position

Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license. SSM Health Dean Medical Group is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with a WI license to join their team. This role involves patient rooming, assisting with in-office procedures, administering injections and vaccines, and performing general clinical administrative tasks within the Epic electronic medical record program. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts varying between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, with no nights, weekends, or holidays. A well-qualified candidate will be comfortable with hands-on patient care, open to new experiences and challenges, and possess an ambitious, motivated, and sympathetic nature. While experience is preferred, enthusiasm for the opportunity is highly valued. The position offers a competitive wage, comprehensive benefits, and is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
  • No experience required

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures the well-being of patients.
  • Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
  • Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.
  • May document the provider's encounter with patients.
  • Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as discharge/follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • May transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
  • Completes patient's charts by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations.
  • Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders, to ensure the patient's workup is complete so that the provider is able to make treatment decisions regarding that patient.
  • May transcribe consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on-call physician.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
