Licensed Practical Nurse - Clinic
About The Position
Provides care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, functioning within the scope of license. This role contributes to the assessment of patients and ensures their well-being. Responsibilities include administering medications, observing patients for adverse reactions, performing laboratory tests and therapeutic services, and educating patients/families about their disease treatment plan, including self-care post-discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow-up care. The role may involve documenting the provider's encounter with patients, listing diagnoses, symptoms, discharge/follow-up instructions, and prescriptions. Additionally, it may include transcribing patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications, completing patient charts by transcribing results of evaluations, and continuously checking the progress of data availability for orders to ensure the provider can make treatment decisions. The role also involves transcribing consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or on-call physician, and performing other duties as assigned, all while working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- State of Work Location: Illinois Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) And Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- State of Work Location: Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) And Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Nurse Licensure Issued by Compact State

Responsibilities

- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as discharge/follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
- May transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
- Completes patient's charts by transcribing results of any labs, x-rays, or other evaluations.
- Continuously checks the progress of data availability for orders, to ensure the patient's workup is complete so that the provider is able to make treatment decisions regarding that patient.
- May transcribes consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or the on-call physician.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
