About The Position

The Licensed Plumber & General Maintenance worker supports and performs all construction, repair and maintenance of the plumbing system throughout the resort. Will handle tasks such as installing fixtures, cleaning drains, and repairing or replacing damaged pipes in residential and commercial buildings.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid State of Vermont Journeyman or Masters Plumbers license.
  • Five-ten years residential and commercial experience.
  • Experience in plumbing of all repairs and projects/construction.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in plumbing maintenance and repair including plumbing codes.
  • Safe application, operation, and maintenance of tools and equipment used in the plumbing trade.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must possess a valid drivers’ license & clean driving record.
  • Ability to Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using rational judgment.
  • Understand guest expectations and needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of privileged and pertinent resort data and information.
  • Ability to provide articulately constructed professional communications.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all resort and departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of department equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance is to be performed regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be always used.
  • All necessary safety measures will be used in accordance with OSHA regulations to prevent employees, guests, vendors, all others and property from becoming hurt or damaged.
  • Always maintain positive guest and employee relations. Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries and comments.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas and resort public areas.
  • All WRC motor vehicles will be operated safely and in accordance with Vermont State Laws.
  • Will pick up materials from vendors when necessary.
  • Will assist other trades and departments as necessary.
  • Installing new plumbing systems, fixtures, and appliances in both residential and commercial settings.
  • Repairing and replacing broken or damaged pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Performing routine maintenance on plumbing systems, including cleaning drains and testing for leaks.
  • Identifying and resolving plumbing problems, such as leaks, clogs, and pressure issues.
  • Understanding and interpreting blueprints to install plumbing systems correctly.
  • Measuring, cutting, and joining pipes using various techniques, including welding.
  • Using a variety of pipe materials, such as copper, PVC, and PEX.
  • Using various tools and methods to remove obstructions from drains.
  • Available after hours and weekend calls.
