About The Position

SpecialtyRx is hiring a detail-driven pharmacist for its long-term care pharmacy team, which provides pharmaceutical care to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The pharmacist evaluates medication orders, ensures medicines are correctly prepared and dispensed, communicates with healthcare teams about medication-related questions, and maintains customer clinical records. The role works four 10-hour shifts, with an every-third-weekend rotation; the listed shift hours are 3 p.m.–1:30 p.m. The posting also notes that day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts are available.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
• Ability to multitask and be reliable.
• Computer literacy.
• Ability to perform light lifting.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous long-term care experience.
• Knowledge of the Frameworks LTC system.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding medication-related queries.
• Supervise the preparation of medicines.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and client facility staff when necessary.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
• Maintain customer databases, including medical history and clinical and laboratory data.
