Licensed Optician - Burlington Mall (Part Time)
About The Position
Warby Parker is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The Licensed Optician helps customers meet their eyewear needs by providing exceptional service, explaining prescriptions and product offerings, and helping customers select frames and lenses suited to their prescription, fit, style, and lifestyle. The role also includes taking measurements, fitting and adjusting eyewear, and checking finished eyewear for accuracy and compliance with optical standards and customer requests. The Optician works collaboratively with the team to improve sales and customer-service practices and represents Warby Parker’s brand, values, and mission. This is a part-time position at Burlington Mall.
Requirements
- Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in states without licensing requirements.
- Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an understandable way.
- Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
- Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- Be detail-oriented and able to manage a wide range of responsibilities.
- Be open-minded, continuously learning and challenging existing knowledge.
- Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to help meet their eyewear needs.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and perform these tasks accurately.
- Check that finished eyewear meets Warby Parker’s optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
- Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
- Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
- Represent Warby Parker and educate others about its values and mission.
