About The Position

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is hiring a part-time Licensed Optician. The role combines customer care, optical expertise, and retail service to help customers select and use eyeglasses and contact lenses while supporting store performance. The Optician assists with dispensing, provides contact lens training and product education, maintains patient records and order follow-up, supports quality and safety standards, and helps maintain inventory and store presentation. The role may also include mentoring Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.

Requirements

Hold an active dispensing license as required by the state.
Have 3 or more years of related experience or training.
Have strong customer service and clear communication abilities.
Have confident selling skills and the ability to meet store goals.
Be organized, detail-minded, and able to multitask in a busy setting.
Be professional, friendly, and comfortable working with a variety of people.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail experience.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with eyeglass and contact lens dispensing, including contact lens insertion and removal training and product education.
Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting sales goals and company objectives.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage order follow-up, including customer notifications and weekly outreach.
Support quality and operational excellence by reducing remakes, following safety standards, and adhering to company policies.
Maintain inventory control, merchandising standards, and a clean, organized work environment.
Mentor Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
