About The Position

At America’s Best, the Optician combines value, expertise, and exceptional service to help customers see and feel their best. The role provides patient care while supporting store performance. Responsibilities include helping customers with eyeglass and contact lens dispensing, contact lens insertion and removal training, product education, customer service and sales, patient recordkeeping, order follow-up, quality and safety practices, inventory control, merchandising, and maintaining an organized work environment. The Optician may mentor Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law. America’s Best stores are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• Hold an active dispensing license as required by the state.
• Have 3 or more years of related experience or training.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and clear communication abilities.
• Have confident selling skills and the ability to meet store goals.
• Be organized, detail-minded, and able to multitask in a busy setting.
• Be professional, friendly, and comfortable working with a variety of people.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with eyeglass and contact lens dispensing.
• Provide contact lens insertion and removal training and product education.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting sales goals and company objectives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage order follow-up, including customer notifications and weekly outreach.
• Support quality and operational excellence by reducing remakes, following safety standards, and adhering to company policies.
• Maintain inventory control and merchandising standards, and keep the work environment clean and organized.
• Mentor Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
