The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), also described as a Clinical Assistant, works on a busy cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients with cardiovascular needs, including post-pacemaker placement, cardiac catheterization recovery, and critical medication infusions. The unit also cares for patients with respiratory, diabetic, endocrine, neurological, renal, vascular, infectious disease, and other medical conditions, and supports dialysis patients with pre- and post-dialysis care. Patients may be inpatients, outpatients, or observation patients and are predominantly adults, although some older pediatric patients may be admitted based on their care needs. Clinical Assistants combine Health Unit Coordinator and Licensed Nursing Assistant functions. As members of the Patient Care Services team, they assist with patient care, coordinate administrative functions in assigned patient care areas, and facilitate patient flow throughout the department. The position is 36 hours per week on days and evenings.
