The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), also described as a Clinical Assistant, works on a busy cardiac telemetry unit serving cardiovascular-focused patients, including patients recovering from pacemaker placement or cardiac catheterization and patients receiving critical medication infusions. The unit also cares for patients with respiratory, diabetic, endocrine, neurological, renal, vascular, infectious disease, and other medical conditions, and supports dialysis patients with pre- and post-dialysis care. Patients may be inpatients, outpatients, or observation patients; most are adults, though some older pediatric patients may be admitted based on their care needs. Clinical Assistants combine Health Unit Coordinator and Licensed Nursing Assistant functions. As members of the Patient Care Services team, they assist with patient care, coordinate administrative functions in assigned patient care areas, and facilitate patient flow. This is a full-time, day/evening position scheduled for 32 hours per week.
