The Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) – AYA Cancer Survivorship is an embedded member of the Survivorship Program, providing licensed psychosocial assessment, navigation, and therapeutic support to cancer survivors. The role is anchored in Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) survivorship, with additional capacity to support the broader survivorship population as program needs and capacity allow. This approach ensures focused expertise for AYA survivors while strengthening psychosocial support across survivorship services. The LISW works in close collaboration with interdisciplinary survivorship teams to deliver coordinated, patient‑centered care. The role provides psychosocial assessment and therapeutic interventions that require licensed behavioral health expertise, complementing—but not duplicating—clinical coordination and survivorship care planning functions.
