About The Position
Great Clips is a locally owned franchise hiring licensed stylists and barbers. They offer a guaranteed competitive base wage, with successful stylists earning $20-$50 per hour in total effective wage (base wage plus productivity, product commissions, and tips). The company handles customer acquisition, so stylists can focus on their skills without the need to build a clientele from scratch. They provide ongoing training, opportunities for advancement, and a supportive team environment. The role involves consulting with customers, shampooing, cutting, and styling hair for all ages, recommending products, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Availability including evenings and weekends is required.
Requirements
- A valid Cosmetology or Barber license (required).
- Strong cutting skills, or the eagerness to build them fast. New grads welcome.
- Genuine customer service instincts — you listen before you cut.
- Reliability and a team-first attitude.
- Availability that includes some evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers, listen to what they actually want, and make professional recommendations.
- Shampoo, cut, and style hair for the whole family.
- Recommend the right products for each customer's hair.
- Keep your station and the salon clean, safe, and welcoming.
- Work as part of a team so no customer waits longer than they have to.
