About The Position

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist provides counseling sessions to patients enrolled in Psychedelic, PTSD, Depression, and/or Anxiety studies. The role is with Alcanza, a growing multi-site, multi-phase clinical research company conducting Phase I–IV studies across multiple therapeutic areas. The position is based at the Coastal Carolina Research Center in Charleston, South Carolina, and reports to Mary Love. It is listed as part-time and PRN.

Requirements

Master’s degree in counseling or a similar field, and at least 2 years of counseling experience with PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active, unrestricted mental health counselor license in the state of work, such as LMHC, LCSW, LPC, or similar.
Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft applications, email, electronic health records, and web applications.
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and listening skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and with coworkers, subjects, managers, and external customers.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in workload and priorities.
Professional, respectful, self-motivated, and strong work ethic.
High degree of integrity and dependability.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, identify problems, and implement solutions.
Ability to handle highly sensitive information confidentially and professionally and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

Meet with patients to provide initial and ongoing counseling sessions according to study protocols.
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments as needed.
Maintain records of client meetings and progress.
Follow all safety protocols.
Complete sponsor-assigned training and meetings to obtain rater certification and recertification according to protocol requirements.
Attend and successfully complete company training programs, and participate in webinars and other study meetings as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of subjects, customers, and company information.
Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, build partnerships within the team and across the organization, and model teamwork.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
