About The Position

The Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor provides behavioral health counseling services to patients and supports families, physicians, and community providers. The role supports collaborative care from treatment initiation through discharge and promotes recovery and wellness. The counselor works in a behavioral health setting focused on compassionate, recovery-oriented treatment and collaborates with others to provide comprehensive care.

Requirements

• Master's degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in counseling, social work, or psychology.
• Before hire or job transfer, hold one or more of the following licenses: Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Counselor, Licensed Psychologist, or Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family.

Nice To Haves

• BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.
• Administer individual and group therapy sessions.
• Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.
• Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
• Provide patients with information on community resources and therapeutic activities.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and community providers to ensure comprehensive care.
