About The Position

The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) will work closely with the Washington County Jail and the Adult Services team in Community Services in Washington County. This is a 12-month special project position. The LADC Position will complete Comprehensive Chemical Health Assessments, offer Service Coordination for treatment, and complete referrals as needed. This position will also be part of a larger scale Community Outreach effort to engage with individuals and families that are in both high risk and underserved communities. The position will primarily be working in the community as part of the Mental Health Outreach Team, and will also include some work in the Washington County Jail as part of the Jail Social Work Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Health or related field or equivalent
  • Two years of experience as a License Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) licensure
  • LADC licensure at time of hire
  • Ability to initiate and engage in conversation with community members and individuals in incarceration
  • Demonstrates knowledge of interviewing techniques and skills at conducting interviews
  • Demonstrates knowledge of relevant laws, policies and resources
  • Demonstrates knowledge of social and economic problems and family systems
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal and court proceedings
  • Demonstrates ability to assess vulnerabilities and strengths of individuals and families
  • Demonstrates ability to develop clear and reasonable services and plans
  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate implementation of services and plans with families, other agencies and the community at large
  • Demonstrates ability to apply previously acquired knowledge and skills to complex situations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for local government
  • Experience completing Comprehensive Chemical Health Assessments
  • Familiarity with DAANES, SSIS and MMIS systems
  • Experience working in a corrections setting
  • Knowledge of local treatment opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Complete Comprehensive (Chemical Health) Assessment
  • Complete DAANES documentation
  • Develop, write, implement and monitor strength-based individual and family service plans to correct/eliminate identified problems
  • Negotiate and resolve conflicts
  • Collaborate and consult with others (professional staff and community agencies) regarding clients, community services or programs
  • Open and maintain client case records and files according to established standards and timelines
  • Advise clients of possible resources, rights and responsibilities under programs or services
  • Service coordination for treatment including referrals, ongoing communication
  • Implement treatment coordination
  • Secure Behavioral Health Funding for qualified recipients
  • Assessment Referral for Fee for Service (Commercial Insurance)
  • Substance Use Disorder community outreach and coordination
  • Ongoing outreach and care coordination with those that we serve
  • Maintain HIPPA compliance as related to Chemical Health guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
