About The Position

Are you passionate about helping families and children struggling with substance use disorders? Do you have a background in counseling and want to be part of a mission-driven team? We want YOU to join our KVC Health Systems family as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor! As a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at KVC, you’ll take on a critical role in providing education, consultation, and training to KVC staff, helping them gain the knowledge and skills to better support children and families affected by substance use disorders. You’ll make a difference in the lives of families by offering: Training & Support for staff on substance use disorders and their impact on families. Assessments & Treatment through individual, family, and group sessions. Collaboration with treatment providers to ensure continuity of care. Engagement Strategies to motivate families to seek help and find the right treatment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field licensable by the Kansas BSRB required.
Previous experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children and youth.
Current Addiction and Prevention Credentialed Counselor through the KS BSRB required. (May apply for temporary license)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments and provide treatment through individual, family, and group sessions.
Collaborate with treatment providers to ensure continuity of care.
Develop and implement engagement strategies to motivate families to seek help and find the right treatment.
