Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Nice To Haves

1 year of customer service experience in a public library, Bookstore, or Retail.
Experience in resolving customer issues or complaints independently and informing customers of products and services.
Experience in instructing others in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), SharePoint, Integrated Library System (ILS), Smart Access Management (SAM), and email applications.
Experience troubleshooting standard office equipment, such as printers, fax machines, and copiers.
Experience assisting patrons in the use of library technology.
Experience with planning and facilitating library programming and community outreach.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, welcoming service to patrons and internal staff.
Assist patrons with holds, item locations, public computers, the digital library, and standard office equipment.
Interpret and apply library policies and procedures.
Resolve customer issues professionally.
Prepare, facilitate, and assist with library programming.
Create engaging displays, support branch outreach, and participate in community events.
Carry out collection maintenance, organization, and shelving.
Share skills, knowledge, and best practices with colleagues; actively participates in library meetings and training.
