About The Position

The Library Specialist is a full-time position that coordinates interlibrary loan activities and assists students, faculty, staff, and community patrons with library resources and equipment. The position is primarily located in an indoor library, classroom, and office environment at the Main Campus in Russellville, Arkansas. The Library Specialist reports to the Librarian, Head of Instruction and Outreach.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience using software programs to manage tasks and communication.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a copy machine, scanner, PC, and printer.
• Understanding of library interlibrary loan policies and procedures related to borrowing, lending, and holds.
• Understanding of patron privacy and accessibility to information in its various forms.
• Ability to use an integrated library system such as Tipasa ILL and WorldShare Management Services (WMS) to manage borrowing, lending, and circulation.
• Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts, maintain user satisfaction, and create an approachable and responsive service point.
• Knowledge of standard office software and equipment, and ability to troubleshoot common technology issues.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience working in a library setting.
• Experience using integrated library systems such as WorldShare Management Services (WMS).
• Experience using Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interlibrary loan activities, including borrowing, lending, and holds.
• Staff the research help desk and assist students, faculty, staff, and community patrons with library resources and equipment.
• Oversee maintenance of the new book collection.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
