About The Position

The Central Arkansas Library System is hiring a full-time Library Safety Officer for the Children’s Library & Learning Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The position is 40 hours per week and includes weekday hours, evenings, and Saturdays. The successful candidate will be outgoing, friendly, team-oriented, comfortable working with people of all ages, and customer-service oriented while supporting public safety in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Requirements

• Be outgoing, friendly, and team-oriented.
• Enjoy working with people of all ages.
• Take a customer-service-oriented approach to public safety.
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Be able to work indoors and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with youth.
• Some computer experience.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with branch staff to address daily challenges.
• Help defuse situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner.
• Interact with youth.
• Enforce the rules of conduct.
• Direct people to services.
• Assist staff with public safety concerns.
