About The Position

This position focuses on creating and executing library programs for tweens, teens, and adults. The library hosts a significant number of programs and events, with over 40,000 patrons attending 387 events last year. Regular programs include Teen Time, Tween Club, and Story time, with participation in community outreach events like Wizard Fest. The role involves carrying out existing programs and developing new, creative ideas aligned with the department's mission. The ideal candidate is high-energy with strong computer, communication, organization, critical thinking, creativity, and time management skills, and is comfortable interacting with groups.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out existing library programs.
  • Propose creative new program ideas that align with the department's purpose and mission.
  • Focus on creating experiences for tweens, teens, and adults with a variety of interests, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Engage with patrons during programs and events.
  • Potentially move and shake with children during events, host teen competitions, sit on the floor during Story Time, or become active participants in physical programs.
