About The Position

This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) with a pay rate of $19.13/hour. The library hosts a significant number of programs and events, with 40,166 patrons attending 387 programs last year. Regular programs include Teen Time, Tween Club, Story time, and Haunted Historic Park, with participation in community outreach events like Wizard Fest. The role focuses on creating experiences for tweens, teens, and adults, involving carrying out existing programs and proposing new creative ideas. The ideal candidate is high-energy with exceptional computer, communication, organization, critical thinking, creativity, and time management skills, and is comfortable interacting with groups.

Ability to perform regular lifting, bending, climbing, walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.
Must possess and maintain a valid Utah State Driver License (or obtain prior to hire) to drive.
12 months experience driving (not including time for learner's permit) to drive.
A driving record acceptable for Tooele City's insurance and risk management standards to drive.

Responsibilities

Carry out existing library programs.
Propose creative new program ideas that align with the department's purpose and mission.
Focus on creating experiences for tweens, teens, and adults with a variety of interests, abilities, and backgrounds.
Engage with children during events.
Host teen competitions.
Participate in programs, such as sitting on the floor during Story Time or becoming active participants in more physical programs.
