About The Position

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries is seeking a customer service-oriented library professional to manage all aspects of operations at the Nipomo Library. The role oversees day-to-day branch processes, supervises front-line staff, provides programming, delivers outreach services in the Nipomo community, and works cooperatively with the Friends of the Library volunteer support group. The current vacancy is full-time at the Nipomo Library. This recruitment may also be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited-term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time, throughout the County.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and decision-making with minimal supervision.
• Ability to be a flexible team member and balance competing demands.
• Aptitude and desire to consistently demonstrate excellent-quality customer service.
• A California Driver’s License is required.
• Must work evenings and weekends.
• A combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Example of qualifying education and experience: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree and two years of library experience.
