About The Position

This position is located in Coe Library on Level 2. The Help Desk provides customer service to the entire campus community and the city of Laramie. This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Customer service experience and/or the desire to positively interact with a diverse customer base
  • Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
  • Current UW student
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work a variety of day, evening, and weekend shifts as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability to continue in position throughout subsequent academic years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a busy Help Desk, check library materials in and out, explain policies and procedures, assist customers in locating print and electronic resources, answer informational and directional questions, pull materials from the stacks, and perform basic office duties.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment alongside other student employees.
  • Shifts are scheduled around classes and other obligations.
  • Provide circulation and research services to customers at Coe Library.
