About The Position

The Librarian works at the Pontiac Branch of the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne. This onsite role focuses on outreach, Studio programs, and customer service support in a collaborative environment. The Pontiac Branch features a StoryScape that promotes early literacy and a Studio where patrons of all ages can learn to use equipment. The Librarian engages patrons through programming, maintains patron accounts so they can update information, renew materials, and manage fines and fees, and registers new library cardholders. The role supports the library’s mission of lifelong learning and inclusive community service.

Requirements

Programming skills and a passion for service.
Familiarity with the principles and practices of library sciences and services.
Strong written communication skills.
Organizational skills for records management and compliance with standard office practices.
Ability to connect with individuals from all backgrounds and foster an inclusive atmosphere.

Responsibilities
