About The Position

The Liaison Engineer Intern participates in a summer internship program in an aerospace and defense environment, gaining hands-on experience through work on company projects alongside industry professionals. The role provides mentoring, cross-functional workshops, and direct involvement in technical work. Interns support team objectives, develop technical and professional skills, and learn about the business and company culture.

Requirements

• Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in college or technical school, with at least six months remaining until graduation after the internship ends.
• Be currently enrolled in a university or college program pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Be able to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Have strong organizational skills and work ethic, and be detail-oriented.
• Meet the stated U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or export-authorization eligibility condition.

Nice To Haves

• Prior internship or work experience in a technical or engineering role.
• Familiarity with the aerospace and defense industry.
• Basic knowledge of engineering software tools such as CAD or MATLAB.
• Microsoft Access skills.
• Pursuing a degree in engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical projects and complete assigned tasks that contribute to team objectives.
• Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced industry professionals.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and records.
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting technical data to support engineering decisions.
• Attend planning meetings to understand project requirements, timelines, and team goals.
• Perform hands-on technical assignments to gain practical experience and build technical skills.
• Work with team members, learn from their expertise, and apply that learning to ongoing projects.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and support implementation of best practices.
• Participate in workshops about the business and company culture.
