About The Position
HNTB is seeking an Intern Engineer for Summer 2027 in its White Plains, New York office. The intern assists assigned departments and/or projects with basic engineering-related tasks that may reflect elements of a standard post-secondary engineering curriculum. Relocation and housing are not provided. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- Understand engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles at a basic level.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
- Obtain an understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures and requirements.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
- Ability to organize information for use in drawings or other documents.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of two years of a post-secondary civil engineering program.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineer teams with various tasks and duties.
- Assist engineers with research, development, and design of projects.
- Assist engineers with preparing engineering drawings and documents as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
