About The Position

HNTB is seeking an Intern Engineer for Summer 2027 in its White Plains, New York office. The intern will assist assigned departments and/or projects with basic engineering-related tasks that may reflect elements of a standard post-secondary engineering curriculum. The role supports engineering teams with research, project development and design, and preparation of engineering drawings and documents. Relocation and housing are not provided. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent, plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
• Understand engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles at a basic level.
• Show proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Accept and apply direction from peers and supervisors.
• Obtain an understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures and requirements.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
• Ability to organize information for use in drawings or other documents.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of 2 years of a post-secondary civil engineering program.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
