Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nationwide licensing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Gather information to determine liability exposure for claims.
Assign reserve values, make claim payments as necessary, and settle claims within the designated authority level.
Develop and coordinate claim action plans through resolution, including return-to-work efforts where applicable.
Approve and process assigned claims, determine benefits due, and administer action plans under the claim or client contract.
Administer claim subrogation and negotiate settlements.
Communicate claim actions to claimants and clients.
Ensure claim files are properly documented and claim coding is correct.
Where applicable, process low-level lifetime medical or defined-period medical claims, including state and physician filings and decisions about treatments recommended by utilization review.
Maintain professional client relationships.
