The Level 1 Assistant Manager helps oversee store operations during their shift and is responsible for ensuring that all work is completed according to company policies, procedures, and standards. The assistant manager is expected to set a strong example, provide excellent customer service, maintain attendance and punctuality, and be willing to perform any job necessary. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Inside-position starting wages are generally minimum wage, with raises following training evaluations; the stated Washington wage range for assistant managers is $17.13–$18.97. Monthly bonuses may be offered when criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to employees who have worked at least one year and average at least 32 hours per week. Sick pay follows Oregon and Washington state requirements. Scheduled hours depend on employee availability and store needs. The posting states that all positions are part-time unless otherwise stated, and employees may have the opportunity to work full-time if the store can accommodate the hours and the employee completes training, is reliable, and communicates full-time needs to the manager. Work involves operating store equipment, preparing and handling food, processing orders, inventory and paperwork, cleaning, and working in conditions that may include temperature changes, hot surfaces, sharp edges, cramped spaces, and adverse weather. The role has frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hand use, and may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, and crouching.
