About The Position

The Lending Processor - Indirect is responsible for communicating loan decisions, answering questions, and guiding dealers/members through the loan process. This role involves processing and disbursing Indirect loans in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. The processor must maintain a working knowledge of loan documents, product-related lending documents, and operating systems, ensuring all stipulations are met before closing and disbursements are made according to credit union policy. The position also requires efficient and professional follow-up with dealers/members, managing inbound/outbound information, providing support during high-volume periods, and fostering teamwork and internal quality service. Recommendations for workflow and process enhancements are encouraged, as is assisting in the training of new team members. A working knowledge of outside vendor processes related to loan products is necessary, along with maintaining positive communication with dealerships to ensure timely processing and disbursement. The role contributes to individual, team, and department goals while promoting team spirit and adhering to enterprise-level policies and procedures, including Risk Management, BSA, OFAC, and Information Security training.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of financial products, services, policies and regulatory guidelines is required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment is required.
  • Excellent PC knowledge and ability to learn new operating systems as needed.
  • Strong time management skills and strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (internal and external member service skills) is required.

  • Ability to handle stressful or difficult situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • High school degree required.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable knowledge of credit union policies, processes, and procedures with the ability to apply them appropriately is preferred.
  • Considerable experience with processing and disbursements of consumer products is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate loan decisions, answer questions and guide dealers/members through next steps/options.
  • Process and disburse all Indirect loans in conformity with all applicable federal and state regulations as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge on all required loan documents, product related lending documents and all applicable operating systems.
  • Review requests to ensure proper set up and documentation is completed prior to disbursement.
  • Ensure all stipulations are met prior to closing.
  • Disburse all Indirect loans in accordance with VACU policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that all application follow-up with dealers/members is done with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Send, receive, and process inbound/outbound information from all sources including mail, fax, loan systems, and electronic mail.
  • Provide support to other areas during times of high volume.
  • Ensure teamwork within the department and promote internal quality service with other areas of the credit union.
  • Make recommendations to enhance workflow, system processes and efficiencies.
  • Assist in training of new indirect processors to the department.
  • Maintain working knowledge of processes with outside vendors utilized as it relates to processing of applicable loan products.
  • Maintain positive communication with participating dealerships to ensure processing and disbursement in a timely manner and in accordance with indirect lending platform requirements.
  • Contribute towards individual, team and department goals while promoting team spirit.
  • Comply with all published enterprise level policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Risk Management policies.
  • Complete all required, ongoing enterprise level training including, but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Information Security.
  • Report all Risk Management Policy violations in accordance with policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
