About The Position

Horizon’s Lending & Credit Internship Program offers a hands-on learning experience introducing students to commercial banking and credit analysis in a dynamic, relationship-driven environment. Based at Horizon’s Executive Offices in downtown Austin, interns work with the lending and credit teams and gain exposure to loan structuring, portfolio management, and underwriting. Interns participate in team projects, financial analysis, and client-focused initiatives while developing professional and technical skills. The paid, in-person program provides opportunities to learn from senior leaders, collaborate with peers, and contribute to work supporting Horizon’s mission and community. The 2027 Summer Internship Program runs from June 14 through July 30.

Requirements

Be a rising sophomore or junior college student.
Major in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
Have completed at least one course in the declared focus area.
Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and contribute to a team’s success.
Have an optimistic, internally motivated, community-oriented personality.
Be able to make decisions, create change, and help grow a company while developing personally.

Responsibilities

Gain exposure to commercial lending, credit analysis, and underwriting processes.
Participate in team projects, financial analysis, and client-focused initiatives.
Collaborate with experienced bankers and senior leaders.
Take part in leadership and professional development opportunities.
Participate in social, team-building, community, and volunteer initiatives.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned or undertaken.
