About The Position

The Legends Server provides friendly, excellent service to customers dining in the assigned restaurant. The role takes guests’ food and beverage orders, serves food and drinks, and ensures customer needs are met. All work must follow Downstream Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives. The position requires a professional, friendly manner when interacting with guests, employees, and supervisors. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule, and duties and expectations may change as needed. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background investigation and drug screening. Native American Preference policy applies.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old upon employment.
Ability to carry and balance a service tray.
Legible handwriting.
Basic knowledge of menu prices and food and beverage menu items, daily specials, and proper placing procedures.
Ability to work as a team player.
Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and respond to visual and oral cues.
Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
Ability to interact effectively with customers and employees and resolve problems or conflicts diplomatically and tactfully.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Must substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to the company’s liability insurance carrier.
Must work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be able to maneuver between the restaurant and kitchen throughout the shift while bringing guests’ food and beverage orders.
Must be able to lift trays with food above shoulder level and lift up to 80 pounds.
Must be able to squat, stand, and bend repeatedly, and stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
Must tolerate secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust, and be physically able to work in extreme weather.
Must maintain physical stamina and a proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community.

Prior food server experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests at assigned tables and ensure their needs are met.
Return periodically to assigned tables to determine whether guests want additional items.
Clear empty plates as guests complete each course.
Serve food and beverages to guests where appropriate.
Usher guests to their tables.
Refill water, coffee, and other drinks upon guest request.
Provide exceptional customer service and communicate pleasantly, professionally, and in a friendly manner.
Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
Follow regulatory, departmental, and company policies ethically.
Meet attendance guidelines and attend required training meetings.
Assist with other projects as directed.
