2027 Summer Intern - Legal
About The Position
First Liberty Institute's Legal Summer Internship offers a select group of law students the chance to train and make a difference through legal practice. Interns will work at First Liberty's Plano, Texas office for a 10-week period from mid-May through July. The program includes hands-on experience with real cases for actual clients, participation in seminars on legal theory and its practical application, and an internal moot court competition with a final round judged by real judges. Additionally, interns will have opportunities to network with legal professionals and judges, enhance specific legal skills, and engage in other enriching activities.
Requirements
- Must be a 1L or 2L law student
- 10-week commitment required from mid-May through July
- Resume
- Current transcripts with final grades (unofficial accepted)
- One legal writing sample not exceeding 15 pages
Nice To Haves
- 1L hiring decisions will be withheld pending receipt of first-semester transcripts.
Responsibilities
- Assist with real cases on behalf of real clients
- Participate in seminars relating to legal theory and practical application
- Compete in an internal moot court competition that includes a final round before a panel of real judges
