As a Legal Operations Associate within PNC's Corporate Governance organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA. PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. Job Description Provides work product for the implementation of assigned daily operations in the legal department. Executes legal department projects in an efficient and effective manner. Provides operational support to legal department. Utilizes technology to generate required reports and analyze information. Acts as a liaison with other corporate departments. Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • This position is subject to the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDIA) and, for any registered role, the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act) and/or the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), which prohibit the hiring of individuals with certain criminal history.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for intellectual property and legal matters, including case preparation, presentations, and document production (e.g., printing, binders).
  • Manage patent and legal docketing systems (e.g., Anaqua) for patents, trademarks, conflicts and litigation matters, including recording filings, grants, USPTO communications, and correspondence from outside counsel and third parties.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel by opening and managing matters in billing systems (e.g., Tymetrix) for litigation, patents, and clearance searches.
  • Prepare and process legal correspondence, including cease-and-desist letters and takedown notices, ensuring proper execution via electronic signature platforms (e.g., OneSpan).
  • Facilitate document execution workflows by routing documents for signature, tracking completion, distributing finalized copies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support inventors by responding to or triaging patent-related inquiries as part of ongoing prosecution and follow-up activities and administering the patent incentive program.
  • Maintain and manage legal and IP-related accounts and systems, including USPTO deposit accounts, subscriptions, and payments through Oracle, Ariba, and Accounts Payable.
  • Oversee document management and records organization, including transferring and maintaining files across platforms such as SharePoint and iManage.
  • Assist with legal department operations, including travel coordination, expense processing, and participation in recurring IP or legal meetings.
